 Role Playing Rules
« Thread Started on Aug 7, 2005, 10:48pm »

1. No God-Moding This is when your character forcefully harms or disarms the other character. Being impenetrable is also god-moding, or dodging everything that comes at you. This mostly relates to duels.

2. No Puppeting Puppeting is when you control another person's character by what they say or feel or do. Puppeting is also used to wound them in battle (also a form of god-modding.) That is not allowed, the only person allowed to say what happens to his/her own character is the creator of that character.

3. Be Patient: People don't all live in the same place you live. This means there will be lulls at certain times of day in the forum. This means RPG's may move rather slowly at times. Roleplaying fortunatly doesn't control one's life, so this gives you time to post in other places, and to acctually live outside of the computer.

4. Don’t Try To Take Over RPG's: The roleplaying games have a set course (generally) whith a task to be done. Please talk to the creator of that roleplaying thread before doing anything that might disorient the storyline.

5. Don't Rush: One major issue with roleplaying is the competition. People always want to get their post in, and many are paranoid that someone might post while they are writing to respond to the same thing. This also means people tend to make short, pointless posts as well. Try to write something meaningful, even if it isn't long, and don't move a story up 20 posts with pointless conversation in a matter of 10 minutes.

6. Know the Story: Be sure to read all the posts in a particular quest before joining. It will save much confusion. Also be sure to read all the posts between your own, so that you don't miss anything during the quest. This can sometimes be a burden depending on how many posts have been done during your absence, so you may pot. to have your character leave the story by some means (PM the creator of the thread before doing so, don't make a post in the story simply saying you quit either.)

7. The Golden Rule: Have fun! This isn't a forum made to bore you to tears. The best part of this forum is roleplaying, and if you enjoy the experience, than keep it up and have fun!
